Smoke release Actuators

Successful natural smoke release is dependent on the appropriate choice of a smoke release actuator. Different types of smoke release windows require different types of actuators:

1. For casement windows (windows that open on an axis), we recommend installing chain actuators, which allow for an opening of at least 60% of the window’s size .
2. For sliding windows and roof vents we recommend using linear actuators. In these cases, it is necessary to assess the weight of the window and calculate the wind loads that the window must withstand. 
3. For heavy windows such as skylights and curtain wall windows, it is necessary to use folding arm actuators (Folding Arm2), which are capable of coping with heavy loads and do not allow the window to move when it is open.

All actuators sold by Metalpress Smart Solutions are manufactured in Germany by leading companies such as D+H and Simon RWA, and comply with Israel Standard 1001-2 / 4, Israel Standard 21927-2 (in preparation), and European Standard EN12101-2.
